Just the way you are
It took me a long time to be comfortable in my own skin. There are so many self-help books on how you can improve your life, improve yourself and even books on how to transform yourself into a better you. There’s nothing wrong with tips to help you work on developing yourself but, what I have found is that God isn’t looking for the better you. Psalm 139 says that God has made us beautifully and wonderfully. And Ephesians 2 says we are God’s Poema—which literally means we are God’s poem and handiwork. I take that to mean that he formed us as no other artist could on purpose with purpose. He took his time making us so that means when you were born he was satisfied in what he had made. Think about that for a minute! God said He made you just right! No mistakes. You are perfect to him without all the self-help books. So while our culture obsesses about perfecting their imperfections. Remember that God already knows what they are and He loves you just the way you are. Stop trying so hard to be someone you aren’t and instead work hard at shining a light in a dark world so desperately trying to be perfect without knowing the One who truly is Holy and Perfect…Jesus Christ.
