Just the way you are

It took me a long time to be comfortable in my own skin. There are so many self-help books on how you can improve your life, improve yourself and even books on how to transform yourself into a better you. There’s nothing wrong with tips to help you work on developing yourself but, what I have found is that God isn’t looking for the better you. Psalm 139 says that God has made us beautifully and wonderfully. And Ephesians 2 says we are God’s Poema—which literally means we are God’s poem and handiwork. I take that to mean that he formed us as no other artist could on purpose with purpose. He took his time making us so that means when you were born he was satisfied in what he had made. Think about that for a minute! God said He made you just right! No mistakes. You are perfect to him without all the self-help books. So while our culture obsesses about perfecting their imperfections. Remember that God already knows what they are and He loves you just the way you are. Stop trying so hard to be someone you aren’t and instead work hard at shining a light in a dark world so desperately trying to be perfect without knowing the One who truly is Holy and Perfect…Jesus Christ.

Not my plans but His

How many times have you read the ending of a really good book? Or watched the end of a really great movie? And the ending just didn't turn out how you'd hoped? Well if you're anything like me a weak ending can be pretty disappointing.

Relentless is a song about the undeniable love of God and how he pursues us and loves us unconditionally. When I think about how God gave up his one and only son as the ultimate sacrifice to pay for our sins, it blows my mind. I can't think of another more beautiful theme to write and sing about. I will forever be awe-inspired by his incredible love because I know that when I was unlovable he loved me, when I was unworthy, he found me worth loving, when I knew there was nothing worth redeeming in me, God took the broken pieces of my life and strung them together to form His masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10(New living Translation) says: "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Which means everything in my life has a purpose and it will all work to the glory of His name and for my good. I'm reminded when I can't make sense of the circumstances in my life that my strength comes from the never-ending, supernaturally-divine, crazy love of God.
